Interventional
The interventional radiologists of Medical Center Radiologists (MCR) are board-certified and fellowship-trained physicians who specialize in performing minimally invasive, image-guided treatments. Interventional radiologists (IRs) use their expertise in X-rays, ultrasound and other medical images to guide small instruments such as catheters through the blood vessels or other pathways to treat disease through the skin. These procedures are typically much less invasive and much less costly than traditional open surgery.
Our physicians offer a complete range of interventional services from treatment of varicose veins to some of the most advanced image-guided minimally invasive cancer treatments available. With more than 75 years of combined experience and specialized training at top academic centers such as Harvard University and Duke University, our physicians are able to offer the highest level of care available in our region.
We offer interventional services at the following facilities:
- Sentara Norfolk General Hospital
- Sentara Leigh Hospital
- Maryview Medical Center
- Varicose vein treatments are available at Total Vein Concepts.
