MCR teams with Ad Astra Media to produce and deliver bilingual S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) books to local Afghan refugee children

Medical Center Radiologists (MCR) is collaborating with Ad Astra Media to provide inspirational characters and educational content to Afghan refugees who resettled in Hampton Roads, VA.

MCR’s financial support will provide 125 bilingual Good Night Series books in Dari/English and Pashto/English mediums; these books will ultimately be distributed by Commonwealth Catholic Charities (CCC) for free to families with children in the refugee communities. The content of these books will promote learning the English language, reading left to right, as well as encouraging S.T.E.A.M. learning and the career possibilities these children could achieve. The ultimate goal is to help increase diversity in S.T.E.A.M. fields by inspiring youth through education and entertainment, where they see role models of different backgrounds, ethnicities, races, LGBTQ+, and gender.
